The information on this page is intended to create a standardized format for pages in the Professional Wrestling Videos wiki.

Event Name/Title Name

If the disc name and event name are different, such as if multiple events are on a disc, or if the video of an event has a different name from the event, list the Title name first, then the event name. (eg. Title : SNME Vol1 Event: SNME #1 (Date)
A Table standard format is to be developed.

Date Format

The dates listed for these videos follow the format YYYY-MM-DD, so March 29, 1987 is written as 1987-03-29.
It is permissible to add the date as text in parenthesis after the standard. The format for text is Month and Day, Followed by Year, (eg. March 31, 1985), but must follow the standard format if it is used. So March 31, 1985 with the date included as next would display 1985-03-31 (March 31, 1985). It is not required to include the date as text along with the standard format.

Match Lists

Matches should be listed in chronological order as they appear on the video itself.
Details pertaining to individual matches include Participants, seconds, titles and stipulations. Match lists are distinct from match results. Match lists must not contain any spoilers.

The hierarchical order of match details standard is

  1. Title match (Title written first in parenthesis). Champions are always listed first denoted by a c in parenthesis after the champions names (eg. Joe Champion (c) vs Opponent)
    1. Non Title matches should start with (non-title match), champion listed first with their title in parenthesis. (eg. (non-title match) Joe Champion (World Heavyweight Champion) vs Opponent.
  2. 1st Participant(s)
    1. Tag Teams must be written as Team Name (Team Member 1 & Team Member 2)
    2. Any second accompany Participant(s) should be noted with w/ (with) before the vs. (managers, valets, seconds can be distinguished as such in parenthesis)
  3. vs. (versus)
  4. 2nd Participant (same rules regarding tag teams and seconds apply)
  5. any special match stipulation should be noted after all other pertinent details in square brackets [Match Stipulation], including special guests referees.

numbered lists are produced by placing a pound symbol before the line, so the code:

 # (Title contested) Champion (c) w/ Manager (manager) vs. Challenger [Steel Cage Match]

will display as:

  1. (Title contested) Champion (c) w/ Manager (manager) vs. Challenger [Steel Cage Match]
more input is required. individual styles of listing matches are permissible, the intent of these standards is to make information as clear and concise as possible, so as to leave no ambiguity regarding a video's content.
As much detail as possible should be included, including show hosts, interviewers, announcers, location, airdate, syndication information (including the distinction between syndicated shows and shows distributed on a bicycle - and if on a bicycle, all relative airdates and markets).

referees

Referees are listed at the end of the match listing, with the exception of special guests referees, written as match stipulation in their respective matches listing.

The format standards listed here are not yet finalized. Check back for updates.
